Side Effect and Tony agree that Creed is "the worst band in the history of the world."
Lots of Creed hate tonight! From Myanmar to America...
Side Effect told Bourdain that the band's influences are the Sex Pistols and Nirvana.
Ok - here comes a crazy train ride. Unlike anything you've ever seen. We'll send some reactions from the crew.
Bourdain took a 370-mile train ride to the ancient capital that took over 19 hours and made 75 stops.
From DP Morgan Fallon: "It was awesome. After shooting we went to out respective sleeping cars. Zach, Todd and I turned off the lights, opened the windows and watched the rice paddies and temples go by in the full moon."
Not all of Myanmar is permissible for travel. Other than the so-called tourist triangle, much of the country is off-limits.
From DP Todd Liebler: "I thought the train was a wonderful opportunity for a back (scratch that) full body adjustment. Also, sleeping with the full moon pouring in the windows, the countryside buzzing by and the gentle, well, frenetic/gentle rocking of the train: It was awesome!"
See that shot of the brush as the train was going by? All shot by the crew, while hanging off the side of the train!
And for another perspective, from segment producer Josh Ferrell: "I seriously thought we were all going to die in a horrible train crash."
From DP Zach Zamboni: "The cameramen have a pretty good sense of what's commonplace and what's still rare and exotic. After filming on the train, we sat awake in the sleeper car, drinking warm beer and staring out the open window. The effect of moonlight, atmosphere and rice patties was creating a set of colors we couldn't define. We watched in silence, happy to be there, sure we'd never see those colors again."
135-plus ethnic groups make up the Burmese population. The name Burma itself only refers to one of those groups.
