One of the best looks at Detroit. Only AB could capture the grit and beauty of the D like this. Grew up in Detroit-proper, family still there, lived all over the country. Only thing missing so far on this show is a trip to one of the BEST farmers markets in the country...Detroit's.

Next time Tony, have some MI craft beer....we are known for them! Atwater or Motor City are both good starts in the city. Or head to the west side of the state for even more choices.

I love Anthony's travels. He is so real. I love him with Charlie in Detroit. I was proud when he was eating in Hamtramck. Great show.

There is a huge movement from the 20-somethings to bring Detroit back. My son travels there almost every weekend with a regular group of students from Michigan State just to give tours.

This episode makes me proud to be a Detroiter!!!

Glad you covered Detroit. Was looking up information about Detroit a month ago. Where can I find a 500 dollar home.
by BourdainAndABeer11/11/2013 2:41:25 AM
We have been in Texas longer than we lived in Michigan, but Michigan is home in my heart and I love Detroit. As a Tigers fan Detroit is mecca for me. One of my saddest days was when I saw the empty field at the corner of Michigan and Trumbull.
